all dressed up in his dark coat and tie
all filled up with self-promoting lies
the most dangerous man isn’t fresh off the streets being charged
the most dangerous man sits easy at his desk feeling large
a tough guy, a mega rich guy
ruler of the universe guy
gotta be ruthless, gotta put on a big show
gotta step on top of everyone below
in his men’s club, the mostly whites club
golfing at the country club
giving the powerless a predator’s name
while making sure he’s free of any blame
a con guy, a wise guy
controller of the storyline guy
playing people is his perfect game
making big money his claim to fame
yet
the public housing kid in a hoodie walking by
might carry a knife or a gun against his thigh
because self-protection isn’t something he’s allowed to deny
so we kill him or we cage him, public safety in disguise
since society’s forgotten how to look him in the eye
it’s a problem, a real big problem
the most dangerous man rewrites the rules
the most dangerous man takes us all for his fools
we just caught the wrong guy
